Home
business pioneers compete
for £50
Businesses that employ
home or remote workers are being invited to compete for prizes worth more than
£50,000, by entering the first ever Remote Worker Awards.
Run in association with BT, the awards are designed to celebrate the
benefits of home working to both businesses and employees.
Award categories include the Remote Employer Award where entrants must
employ, or be planning to employ, remote or home-based staff, demonstrate a real
commitment to home working, and explain why they deserve to win. One winning
firm will receive a year's free recruitment advertising, a specialist website
consultation, free legal advice and software products worth £1,500.
Another category, the BT Home Business Award, is open to a home-based
business established for six months or more. Applicants are required to
demonstrate how home working has had a positive impact on their business and
home life. The winning firm will receive £1,000 worth of BT business service
products.
Self-employed freelancers are being invited to enter the Freelance
Consultant Award. Entrants must be able to demonstrate what is unique and
innovative about their business, and the winner will receive a business package
that includes career coaching, marketing expertise and computer software.
The deadline for entries is 31 July. The winners will be announced at an
awards ceremony on 10 September.
